2. Go Fishing on Lake Lanier🎣
Fishing enthusiasts will love the abundant bass, catfish, and crappie in our lake. FYI... Lake Lanier's striped bass record is a massive 47 pounds!!! Whether you’re a seasoned angler or a beginner, Lake Lanier has the best fishing spots.
3. Hike the Scenic Trails and see Waterfalls⛰️
For nature lovers, there are dozens of trails and waterfalls within an hour of Belle Haven Cottage that offer breathtaking views, wildlife sightings, and a peaceful escape into nature. Choose from easy walking paths to challenging hikes for every skill level.
4. Take a Canoe or Paddleboard Out on the Water 🚣♂️
Explore the lake at your own pace with a relaxing canoe or paddleboard ride. We have a canoe and 3 paddleboards available for you to use at the cottage boathouse dock
5. Unwind by the Firepit with S’mores & Wine 🔥🍷
Evenings at the cottage are best spent around the firepit, roasting marshmallows and sharing stories under the stars. We provide the firewood!
6. Bike the Picturesque Trails at Jake & Bull Mountain or Stonewall Falls & White Twister 🚴♀️
Explore miles of scenic biking trails that wind through forests and lakeside paths. Great for both beginners and experienced riders!
7. Visit downtown Gainesville, Dahlonega or Helen for Dining & Shopping 🍽️🛍️
Take a short drive to downtown Gainesville, Dahlonega or Helen where you’ll find quaint boutiques, local restaurants, and charming cafés. Each one unique and a great way to spend a relaxing, fun day!
8. Go Boating or Rent a Pontoon for a Day on the Water ⛵
Want to spend the day cruising the lake? Local boat rentals make it easy to enjoy a full day of fun on the water, whether you’re fishing, tubing, or just relaxing.
9. Discover the Local Wildlife & Birdwatching Spots 🦅
Keep your eyes open for bald eagles, deer, herons, groundhogs and other wildlife around the lake. A recent guest even spotted a rare white "piebald" deer!
10. Relax & Do Absolutely Nothing 🌿💆♂️
Sometimes, the best thing to do is simply unwind. Read a book on the porch, take a nap in the lounge chairs on the upper deck of the dock or soak up the peaceful sounds of nature.

"Belle Haven is outstanding. Being there is like staying in your own private resort. The cottage is clean and modern with high-end amenities and appliances, but feels like a secret country house surrounded by flowers and butterflies. We enjoyed special seating spots for coffee or conversation and larger areas for gathering for games or a meal at the dining table which seats ten. The charming décor and special touches make the space feel posh but also cozy and relaxing. Beds were comfortable and had plenty of pillows. It is a lovely property nestled into beautiful landscape but also near grocery and restaurants. The cove is secluded and offers wonderful opportunity to swim and play in the water. The owners have thought of truly every single thing (games, fluffy towels, kitchen necessities, coffee/tea/cocoa bar, books … the list goes on) to make a trip fabulous, and they went above and beyond to make our family trip amazing."
